World premiere by the Ballet Nacional de España on 12th June 2015 at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid (Spain), under the directorship of Antonio Najarro.
Blanca del Rey is not only one of the great bailaoras of the last decades but she is also one of the most prominent champions of flamenco from one of its temples, El Corral de la Morería. With this choreography, Blanca del Rey, leaves her most precious artistic legacy: her personal, emblematic Soleá del Mantón, an exquisite gem that she chose to deposit in the safe of the Ballet Nacional de España.
Blanca del Rey entrusted the choreography Soleá del mantón to the Ballet Nacional de España in 2015. The bailaora symbolically passed on the shawl to Esther Jurado by dancing with her on stage at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, under the direction of Antonio Najarro.
