“Here is the superb Fandango by Padre Antonio Soler. There is nothing, in the XVIII century´s Spanish music, comparable to this strange and exciting fandango. Composed in a basso obstinato pattern, the melody sings and dances with lots of variations. This is a creation with the purest Spanish taste, inspired by the popular fandangos of the XVII century. Mariemma has composed a dance for six dancers with a stylized choreography based on moves and postures of old fandangos.”
