Revival of Antonio’s choreography, premiered on June 18th, 2016, at the Teatro de La Zarzuela in Madrid, Spain, as part of the program Tribute to Antonio Ruiz Soler.
Antonio premiered this choreography, based on Isaac Albéniz’s Suite Iberia, on April 28th, 1960, at the Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona. Eritaña is an exquisite example of the escuela bolera style, of highly demanding technical virtuosity: a charming and refined miniature that evokes luminous Seville. Antonio Najarro revived this piece, which has formed part of the Ballet Nacional de España’s repertoire since 1981, for the Tribute to Antonio Ruiz Soler, performed at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, Spain, from June 18th to July 3, 2016.
