"I would like to present to the public, whether you love dance or not, my first newly created show as head of the BNE: Ángeles Caídos. I have invited some of the current leading choreographers and flamenco artists for the first Ángeles Caídos ballet, with Hansel Cereza as stage director. This way I wish to show to the public that the BNE has become a fully open entity that is willing to be steeped in the current Spanish dance movement. Each and every member of the company have put all our effort and heart in this first proposal that we hope you enjoy."

Antonio Najarro

“A work inspired by the myth of the fallen angels and, at the same time, a tribute to film director Wim Wenders’s personal vision in the film Wings of Desire. Those angels cast out of paradise and condemned to live in captivity. It is said that they sinned and were therefore stripped of their wings and sent into exile. For an indefinite period of time, they wandered among humans with the mission of listening to their thoughts, discovering themselves to be immortal beings among mortals. A small group of angels are redeemed from their captivity, leaving humanity to continue dreaming of immortal beings and thus freeing their tormented consciences.”
