World premiere by the Ballet Nacional de España on May 12th, 1979, at the Teatro Juárez in Guanajuato, Mexico, during the Cervantino Festival of Guanajuato.
This choreography formed part of the suite Flamenco I, premiered in 1979 under the direction of Antonio Gades. In addition to this piece, the production included six other numbers: Bulerías, Farruca, Seguiriya and Rumba by Antonio Gades; Debla, a musical number performed by José Mercé/Gómez de Jerez; and Martinete by Paco Fernández.
In programs for later performances, authorship of this Soleá por bulerías is shared with Cristina Hoyos.
