World premiere by the Ballet Nacional de España on July 12th, 1985, at the Roman Theatre of Spoleto, Italy, during the 28th Festival dei Due Mondi.
This choreography by Felipe Sánchez premiered as one of the numbers in the suite Flamenco, first performed in 1985. The other pieces in this production were: Alegrías, Farruca, Bulerías — choreographed by Juan Quintero — Soleá by Rosario, and Mirabrás by José Antonio.
The following year, it was incorporated into another flamenco suite of the same name, premiered at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid, this time alongside the following numbers: Caracoles by Martín Vargas, Soleá by Merche Esmeralda, Romeras and Martinete by José Antonio, and Farruca and Bulerías by Juan Quintero.
