World premiere by Ballet Nacional de España on the 26th of September, 2000, Teatro de la Maestranza (Seville, Spain).
This choreography, far from being a tribute to Carmen Amaya, is the reflection of a feeling. With no intention of imitating her art or style of dancing, this is a reminder of her legacy, with the purpose of recreating on stage a period and a personal and intimist way of dancing; to bring closer to the audience the genius of the bailaora through prayers… a ritual of prayers and movements that interlace to feel the unique emotion of Carmen Amaya.
