World premiere by Ballet Nacional de España on the 22nd of September, 1994, Teatro de la Zarzuela (Madrid, Spain).
This solo, inspired by tauromachy, shows the similarity between bullfighting and dance. The bullfighter, as well as the dancer, asks for an evening of success before his “faena” (work) begins. The choreography, through the dancer´s movements, expresses the great sadness the bullfighter feels for the animal that has bring him a triumphant evening.
