World premiere by Antonio. Ballet Español on June 30th, 1956, at the Teatro de los Jardines del Generalife in Granada, Spain. Premiere by the Ballet Nacional de España on May 12th, 1979, at the Teatro Juárez in Guanajuato, Mexico, during the Cervantino Festival of Guanajuato.
Ballet based on popular themes from the Kingdom of Galicia.
Presagio: According to legend, this tells of the trance of two lovers during the last night of their lives. The Santa Compaña helps them to die well, thereby fulfilling its own destiny: to seek out those who are to die during the night.
