It will return to Teatro del Bosque in Móstoles on May 30th and 31st. 'Segunda piel', a solo by Miguel Ángel Corbacho, completes the program.

The Teatro del Bosque in Móstoles will host two performances on May 30th and 31st, starring Dualia, a choreography created by Ángel Rojas and Carlos Rodríguez, with music by José Nieto.

In the words of the choreographers, this work approaches Spanish dance “breathing in the youth and freshness of the dancers of this generation, rich in knowledge; reflecting ourselves in the colours of Sorolla’s paintings; seeking the complicity of partner dancing; interpreting the sensuality of glances, caresses and kisses; remembering the great dancers our land has given us, in order to try to express our meaning and feeling through the heartbeat of castanets.”

Dualia had its world premiere with the Ballet Nacional de España on March 15th, 2007, at Madrid’s Teatro de La Zarzuela, under the direction of José Antonio.

A solo and a tragedy

Ballet Nacional de España completes its program with two other major choreographies: Segunda piel and Medea.

Segunda piel, a solo by Miguel Ángel Corbacho, is composed of three sonatas that represent a journey through his life. In the words of the dancer and choreographer: “The first depicts the strength of youth, the early years of the dancer seeking success. The second expresses the passage of time and constant learning. In the third, I show the dancer’s maturity, experience, knowledge, and personal and artistic evolution.” It is a story full of experiences and feelings, as Miguel Ángel Corbacho expresses: “All the changes I have gone through in life are carried on my skin, and they are what make me who I am.”

Segunda piel had its world premiere on October 16th and 18th, 2025, at Madrid’s Teatro Real.

The program concludes with the performance of the iconic Medea, one of the finest theatrical flamenco ballets. Its dramaturgy, written by Miguel Narros based on Seneca’s tragedy, the music of Manolo Sanlúcar and the choreography of José Granero come together in a heartrending, seamless production: a story of love, betrayal and revenge whose artistic value remains undiminished to this day.

This emblematic work by Maestro Granero, premiered on July 13th, 1984, at Madrid’s Teatro de la Zarzuela, is possibly the most performed and reinterpreted choreographic work in the history of Spanish dance.

The performances of Medea will feature dancer Inmaculada Salomón in the leading role.
